Brayden's First Hospital Visit

On Thursday, May 14, we took Brayden to the hospital to have tubes put in his ears. He has had multiple ear infections and has constantly been on antibiotics so we made the decision to have tubes put in. It is a very common surgery and millions of kids have it done every year. So no big deal... except they were going to take my baby from me and mess with his ears and that was a BIG deal to me. So I prepared myself for a week before. Preston and my Dad gave Brayden a blessing the night before and I just knew in my heart everything was going to be fine. But the nerves still had a hold of me! He was such a doll. He made lots of friends in the hospital because of his smile and giggles. We had a number of nurses come by our recovery room that were with us from different stages of the day to check on him. They all just loved him! We were only away from Brayden for about 20 minutes during the surgery and they let us right back in with him in recovery. During recovery I got to rock him while he slept... he seemed so little in that great big hospital. When he woke it was kind of funny, he heard the beeping of the vitals monitor and he said "Ought Oh!" and started looking around. They were so good to us and our little guy is doing great now. I think the tubes have already made a difference. Again, we are so blessed!

This is a "friend" the hospital gave Brayden. He kept turning it over and over looking for it's face. It was so funny to watch him looking for the eyes and mouth! It didn't have any. He was done with it after about two minutes!
